Lake Placid Synagogue Membership

The Lake Placid Synagogue is the only year ‘round synagogue inside the Adirondack Park. We are fortunate that those that went before us thought of the future and gave of themselves so that today we have a place to come to throughout the year. With that in mind we hope that all your visits to the Lake Placid Synagogue provide you and your family with a feeling of “mishpacha.” Whether it is to daven Kol Nidre, taste latkes at Chanukah or share in our monthly pot-luck you are always made to feel welcome. We would like you to look to the future and consider becoming a member so that you, your children, grandchildren and friends visiting will have a place to worship. We offer services year ‘round, holiday celebrations and a place for all to learn about their Jewish heritage.

For those of you who are visitors to our area, we welcome you to our corner of the woods and ask for your support in any way you can. If you are attending our High Holiday services we ask for $100 per person. If you are just visiting on Shabbat, please consider a gift of ‘Chai’ times the number of people in your party. If you can do more you will be blessed many times over.

Our members are permitted to vote at the annual temple meeting and receive two tickets to the High Holy Day Services. All members receive a bulletin, which is published six times a year. Participation is encouraged in synagogue events such as our Passover Seder, High Holy Day Services, Purim and Chanukah parties. We list the Yartzeit of your loved ones in the newsletter as well as memorialize them in our services. Join us and forge a link with the past, present and future in our thriving synagogue in the Adirondacks. Our annual dues are $425.00 plus a Fuel Fund Assessment of $50.00. However, we never deny anyone the right to participate in services due to financial constraints.

Our office staff consists of an answering machine. Since many of us do not live near the temple the machine is not checked on a regular basis. If you need to contact an officer it’s best to contact our president at home – via phone or email. You can get our President, Sue Semegram at 518-523-5611 or via email at sue@lakeplacidsynagogue.org . We are always available to discuss your synagogue needs. Also, we do not have a mailbox at the temple – please send all correspondence to:
